The conference is jointly organized by the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and RPTU Kaiserslautern on the university campus and is additionally sponsored by the Carl Zeiss Foundation.
The conference will focus on the recognition of human activities, for example with mobile environment sensors or cameras. Current research challenges for recognition in realistic, intelligent environments are, for example, complex and ambiguous activities/behavior, optimal sensor combinations, or (deep) machine learning.
Application areas that will be explored and discussed at the conference include, for example:
- Activity and behavior monitoring for health surveillance, such as detecting movement patterns in the elderly to prevent falls.
- Behavioral analytics to detect suspicious or deviating behavior, whether in physical or digital environments.
- The analysis of learner activities and behavior to gain better insights into learning processes and develop personalized teaching approaches.
- The use of wearable devices and sensors to support performance improvements.
This year's conference is hosted by Paul Lukowicz, professor of embedded intelligence at RPTU and DFKI. His team member Vitor Fortes Rey is responsible for on-site organization.
