The final shortlist also includes two young researchers from the DFKI. They are among the six finalists of their discipline. Within the framework of the Year of Science, the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (Society for Computer Science) awards prizes for outstanding young AI talents from various relevant scientific disciplines.

Hali Lindsay & Patrick Helber

Hali Lindsay is nominated in the category “Life Sciences”. In the Research Department Cognitive Assistance Systems she researches the use and especially the analysis of speech data for the recognition and understanding of neurocognitive disorders.

In the final selection of the category “Computer Science” Patrick Helber from the Research Department Smart Data & Knowledge Services is on the shortlist. He is researching novel AI methods for satellite image analysis for disaster control and more sustainable urban planning.
