In a world of smartphones, computers and constant connectivity, the web comic Noerdman takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the digital transformation and its challenges - in a way that is both humorous and thought-provoking.
The exhibition, which can be seen at the HdW until May 30, 2025, features a selection of more than 30 drawings from the comic, which depict various aspects of everyday digital life in a light-hearted and educational way. The comics’s creatorsare Prof. Dr. Rolf Drechsler, head of the DFKI research department Cyber-Physical Systems and professor at the University of Bremen, and Dr. Jannis Stoppe from the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Since 2018, a new episode has been published weekly on www.nordman.de.
Prof. Dr. Peter Ritzenhoff, CEO of the Haus der Wissenschaft, and Prof. Dr. Rolf Drechsler will open the exhibition on February 13 at 5 p.m. Admission is free. Please register by e-mail to msantos@hausderwissenschaft.de.
If you would like to find out more about Noerdman, you should not miss the lecture "The web comic ‘Noerdman’ - how we all became superheroes of digitalization" by Prof. Drechsler. It will take place on February 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. as part of the 'Wissen um 11' lecture series at the Haus der Wissenschaft. The cartoonist of the comic, Dr. Jannis Stoppe, will also be present.
"Wissen um 11" is the science matinee in Bremen, in which exciting and current topics from science are presented every Saturday at 11 a.m. in thirty minutes in the Olbers-Saal. Admission is free.
