UPLINX Qualification in the Topic Machine Learning

| Industry 4.0 | Machine Learning & Deep Learning | Agents and Simulated Reality | Cognitive Assistants | Smart Data & Knowledge Services | Kaiserslautern

The joint project UPLINX is a cross-site qualification programme for machine learning with close practical and application orientation. The project will run until the end of 2019 at all DFKI locations throughout Germany with the participation of the Academy of Engineering Sciences (acatech) under the direction of the Robotics Innovation Center. In autumn 2019, UPLINX will lead to machine learning schools and industry workshops at all DFKI locations.

UPLINX Machine Learning School (MLS)

From 9 to 11 October 2019 the UPLINX Machine Learning School (MLS) will take place at DFKI Saarbrücken. The three-day event, limited to 50 participants, offers lectures and hands-on group exercises on selected methods of machine learning. With a focus on deep learning, applications from various areas such as gesture and error recognition, motion synthesis and safe autonomous driving for pedestrians will be presented and developed in English.

The UPLINX Machine Learning School is mainly addressed to students (Master, PhD) and postdocs in computer science with general knowledge of AI.

Date: 9-11 October, DFKI Saarbrücken
Registration: Further information on registration can be found here. The number of participants is limited to 50.

The Machine Learning School is organized by the DFKI Research Departments Cognitive Assistance Systems (COS) and Agents and Simulated Reality (ASR) in Saarbrücken.

In addition to MLS, a two-day workshop on “Machine Learning in Industry” (MLI) with participants from industry will take place in Kaiserslautern on 21 October 2019:

UPLINX Workshop on “Machine Learning in Industry” (MLI)

The UPLINX Machine Learning in Industry (MLI) Workshop will take place at DFKI Kaiserslautern from 21-22 October 2019. The event is primarily aimed at managers and technical staff, and others, who are interested in concrete applications of machine learning methods in industry.

The two-day workshop will offer four invited presentations on the use of ML methods for implemented applications in companies from very different industrial sectors such as robotics, life sciences, and manufacturing. The MLI workshop will give a high-level overview of existing processes, their capabilities and also the opportunity to experience them for yourself using simple examples in some hands-on session.

Date: 21-22 October, from 9 am to 4:30 pm, DFKI Kaiserslautern
Registration: Further information on registration can be found here. The number of participants is limited to 30.

The workshop is jointly organized by DFKI Kaiserslautern (research department SDS) and DFKI Saarbruecken (research departments COS and ASR).
