Project

AW4.0

Autowerkstatt4.0

Autowerkstatt4.0

  • Duration:

In the project Autowerkstatt 4.0 (AW 4.0), a consortium consisting of companies and research institutes is developing a platform for the trustworthy data exchange of industry-specific AI models and vehicle data (in Germany).

The aim of the project is to drive digitization forward, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the automotive sector. Workshops, measurement system providers and AI startups are being linked to form an innovation and value network. AI-supported methods are to help improve repair and maintenance here.

In particular, DFKI is investigating AI modeling and the development of explainable AI methods for fault diagnosis and decision support using complex heterogeneous data (structured as well as sensor-based), which are recorded, for example, using automotive oscilloscopes. Using this data enables the development of intelligent AI methods for fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis in the GAIA-X context.
