Intelligent fusion of intralogistics and production in the factory of the future.
As part of the increasing automation, digitalization and globalization of their production conditions, industrial companies are faced with the challenge of organizing factories in an increasingly changeable and flexible manner. The most complete possible digitalization of business and production processes, as well as their comprehensive and adaptive linking with production control systems or cyber-physical systems, is considered the key to increasing profitability and competitiveness, as well as for continuous flexible production as the core of most value chains.
In practice, this requires a high degree of adaptability when unexpected, changed production conditions occur, as well as a continuous exchange of information between so-called assets on the logistics side and those on the production side. Assets are network-capable components and objects that are essentially involved in the value chain, such as machines, robots and manufactured products. In order to guarantee the smoothest possible process flow, assets must be described in a standardized manner and production-inherent management systems must be perfectly coordinated. BaSynaos, which is being driven forward jointly by the project partners SYNAOS GmbH and DFKI, builds on the base system for Industry 4.0 developed in the previous project BaSys 4.0, which is to be used in practical scenarios and brought into widespread use.
Online process planning for intralogistics and production in the base system for Industry 4.0.
A central aspect of Industry 4.0 is the holistic, adaptive orchestration of intralogistics and manufacturing processes in industrial production. In addition to intelligent and powerful algorithms for planning and optimizing the entire factory process, this requires real-time data from the shop floor in order to be able to adapt planning to the current state of all assets involved in manufacturing and intralogistics at any time.
The goal of the BaSynaos satellite project is to enable uniform access to planning-relevant real-time data of these assets on the basis of the reference implementation provided by BaSys 4.0 in order to connect external online planning systems. The connection of external planning systems is evaluated exemplarily using the software applications SYNA.OS LOGISTICS and SYNA.OS MANUFACTURING, which allow a coordinated planning and optimization of manufacturing and intralogistics.
