The goal of the DAMiAS project is the development of a methodological and technical solution set to implement and introduce a data-driven Asset Management for producing companies in the automotive sector. The benefit results from enabling companies in this cost driven industry to operate their systems and production lines on a significantly higher level of efficiency than today. The growing complexity of production lines in the automotive industry increases the requirements on management and registry of the equipment, software and tools used. Currently, there is increasing support for device manufacturers that start to offer automatic identification of the firmware version, connected sensors, date of last change, etc. However, there are no tools yet that provide a global picture of the overall structure of the production line from this partial information.
