Application fields

The MOSAIK project is inspired by the principle of stigmergy, a form of communication in a decentralised system with a large number of individuals. The aim of this project is to develop a system architecture that does not need central elements. The aim is to increase reliability and to avoid expensive central infrastructures, power structures and monopolies. ASR will be responsible for developing concepts for the self-organized aggregation of components, modelling and production. Furthermore, it will be necessary to place affordances and technically implement software frameworks for the enrichment of MOSAIK artifacts. The basic concepts are scenarios around the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 and Smart-X systems.

From the user's point of view, the complexity of the operation of IT systems should be reduced as far as possible. The platform to be developed in the project should enable a large number of different companies to participate.
