In the overall project Sustainable Agriculture with KI (NaLamKI), a cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service) platform is being created with open interfaces for providers from the upstream and downstream sectors of agriculture, industry, and service providers for special applications in crop production. The DFKI focuses on the networking of the individual sensors such as drones for remote sensing and agricultural machinery as well as their wireless data transmission to the cloud or further distribution to the relevant end user nodes. In addition, another focus of the DFKI is the development of AI methods and GAIA-X compliant services for future-oriented solutions to agricultural problems, always ensuring data sovereignty along the entire value chain and interoperability between various central and decentralized cloud providers and users. In particular, the guarantee of data sovereignty, end-to-end networking and GAIA-X-compliant AI services increase acceptance by partners and farmers, thus harboring a high potential for innovation and making a significant contribution to environmental protection in connection with sustainable agriculture.
