The increasing availability of up-to-date data in the information age is of limited use without adequate presentation. Language technology can make an important contribution to this, whereby multi-lingual capacities are of particular importance in regions which are close to foreign borders and in Europe on the whole. In the TEMSIS project an environmental information system for German and French communities in the Stadtverband Saarbrücken and in the Département Moselle Est is being developed. Network-connected points of information will offer current environmental information catering for both the general public and experts. On the basis of the DFKI's Language Technology contributions air-quality reports can be generated automatically on-line from current measurements in both German and French. The faster and simpler availability of air-quality reports contributes to the implementation of EC demands to make all environmental data public
- On-line access to current measurements
