In the context of politically motivated criminality and terrorist activities, freely accessible internet services are becoming increasingly significant. Early identification, prevention and management of extremist dynamics of interaction and escalation in online networks are becoming more and more important. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the X-SONAR project will make a valuable contribution to improving understanding of the processes and determinants of collective online radicalisation from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The Educational Technology Lab is designing, developing and implementing an intelligent and tutoring information, knowledge and learning environment using the methods of artificial intelligence. Digital educational content is also being prepared in didactic and media pedagogy form, working in conjunction with the Saarland State Institute for Preventative Action. This will help to disseminate the project’s findings via digital training and its sustainable implementation in security services and civil society.
