Abstract

With the rapid evolution of wireless mobile communication technologies, the advent of Sixth Generation (6G) networks promises unprecedented advancements in speed, reliability, and connectivity. However, the need for robust security and privacy mechanisms becomes increasingly critical alongside these advancements. In this context, the integration of Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) emerges as a promising solution to address the growing security and privacy concerns in 6G networks. FHE offers the capability to perform computations on encrypted data without the need for decryption, thereby ensuring end-to-end confidentiality while enabling secure data transmission and processing. This paper explores the potential applications and benefits of integrating FHE into mobile networks, highlighting its role in transforming next-generation wireless communication systems’ security and privacy landscape. Additionally, key challenges and considerations associated with the adoption of FHE in 6G networks are discussed. It also presents a proof of concept demonstrating secure network slicing using FHE.
