The successful integration of AI into economy and society requires reliable trust mechanisms. These, in turn, require the development of skills among end users and in industry, but also resilient procedures for determining the trustworthiness of AI systems. The work of the Innovation & Quality Centre (IQZ) at DFKI in Kaiserslautern supports both aspects. The IQZ Kaiserslautern regularly organises workshops to build skills and transfer knowledge to companies and start-ups. To give companies access to specialist expertise from cutting-edge AI research, the IQZ offers individual consulting services with quality checks for specific AI applications. In addition, the DFKI at the IQZ Kaiserslautern is working on the development of AI quality standards and testing procedures, in particular for high-risk applications. These procedures will ultimately be tested in five specific medical applications.
The IQZ Kaiserslautern is jointly operated by MISSION KI and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) Kaiserslautern. MISSION KI, under the leadership of acatech – the German Academy of Science and Engineering, aims to strengthen the trustworthiness and reliability of AI applications as part of a national initiative.
