Roughly 40 experts from the areas of software development, artificial intelligence, research and trade have started the realisation phase of "Knowledge4Retail". The project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy aims at developing a platform for AI based solutions especially for stationary retail. The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) works on this challenge together with specialists from team neusta, dm-drogerie markt, Allgeier ES, the EHI Retail Institute, the University of Bremen and the Technical University of Munich.

In the past days, the consortium members of the project "Knowledge4Retail" met for the kick-off in 2020 in Bremen. The meeting was hosted by team neusta, leader of the project consortium, and the University of Bremen. The consortium consisting of several companies, universities and institutes determined the next steps for the realisation phase. The main focus lies on developing the platform as well as the circularisation of K4R as a solution for the digitalisation of stationary retail. A first milestone is the retail trade fair "EuroShop" in February, where the biggest representatives of the retail industry as well as several partners of the K4R consortium will meet and exchange insights. The next meeting of the consortium will take place in Essen at the offices of neusta software development west.
