The project hyBit - hydrogen for Bremen's industrial transformation - is the starting point and at the same time the central initial impulse of a hydrogen hub in Bremen and furthermore the nucleus for the use of hydrogen in the context of the transformation to a sustainable and climate-neutral Europe.
DFKI contribution: Agent-based modelling and simulation of the transformation processes in the conversion of Bremen's steel industry to hydrogen as an energy source.
The project investigates the climate-friendly conversion of Bremen's heavy industry to hydrogen with its far-reaching effects in industry, politics and society. hyBit is the starting point for the use of hydrogen in the context of the transformation to a sustainable and climate-neutral Europe. To support and investigate this transformation, we are developing an agent-based social simulation, which includes socio-technical contexts such as mobility, energy demand and use as well as individual goals of economic, social and political actors. The simulation will be part of a participative decision-making platform for the stakeholders involved.
