Objective of the project “Situational DialogUe Interaction in Smart Homes (SqUISH)” is to establish a better understanding of daily routines and usage situations by residents of potential smart homes to create situational recommendations for automation of smart-home features and unused smart-home functions. The research group Smart Service Engineering supports a huge German enterprise methodically and technically in (1) detecting and inquiring user routines in smart homes, (2) implementing a situational dialogue interaction concept according to defined user routines based on the inSIDE platform, and (3) evaluating the resulting concept by means of an empirical user study in an experimental smart home environment.
