In the AdaMeKoR project, concepts are being developed to enable the safe, robot-assisted transfer of patients with higher body weights.

The overall objective of AdaMeKoR is the development of an adaptive and multifunctional motorized bed with robotic arm system for use in nursing.

For this purpose, sensor components are developed, e.g. to be able to adjust the bed position depending on the situation. Different holding and supporting functions of the system are tested, for example for bed-wheelchair transfer. In addition, the system is to monitor the posture of the nursing staff and, in the event of unfavorable loads, provide information for optimization.

In the future, AdaMeKoR is expected to improve the autonomy and quality of life of care recipients and to significantly reduce the physical strain on caregivers when lifting and moving a patient.
