On 13 June 2026 from 1.00 pm, the University of Bremen is once again hosting its OPEN CAMPUS event. Under the motto “OPEN WORLDS – SHARE KNOWLEDGE”, academic departments, institutes and facilities will be presenting their work – and DFKI Bremen will be there.

Experience research first-hand

The DFKI will be presenting its current projects at the U Bremen Research Alliance (UBRA) stand in the foyer of the MZH – right next to the B-Human team’s playing field. The joint team from the University of Bremen and the DFKI achieved impressive successes at the RoboCup German Open 2026 in Cologne and secured first place in both the Middle Division and the Large Division of the newly founded Humanoid Soccer League. At OPEN CAMPUS, B-Human will now demonstrate its skills live on the artificial turf.

Take a look behind the scenes

Another highlight is provided by the DFKI research department Cyber-Physical Systems: during two guided tours of the Bremen Ambient Assisted Living Lab (BAALL), visitors will gain fascinating insights into a laboratory flat equipped with innovative technologies for people with and without disabilities. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes. You can register via this link.

Experience Noerdman live

On the first floor of the MZH (Stand 41), the focus is on the Bremen-based webcomic “Noerdman – the Nerd from the North”, which has been tackling topics from the digital world in a humorous and accessible way since 2018. At the stand at OPEN CAMPUS, there is a small selection of comics on display, as well as the accompanying illustrated book. You can also meet the creative minds behind the comic – Prof. Dr. Rolf Drechsler and Dr. Jannis Stoppe – and watch Jannis Stoppe drawing.

Free admission

The stands are located in the central buildings GW2 and MZH and are open from 1 pm to 6 pm. All events as part of OPEN CAMPUS are free of charge.

You can find the official OPEN CAMPUS 2026 website here.

We look forward to seeing you!
