6G-Terafactory

Open-RAN basiertes Campusnetz für industrielle Echtzeitanwendungen

  • Duration:

The 6G-Terafactory project explores innovative 6G campus network technologies in practical field deployment. Building on an open RAN approach and using state-of-the-art software practices, a blueprint is being developed on how campus networks can be set up „out of the box“ first in an uncomplicated way and then operated reliably. An open and cosystem approach makes it possible to integrate hardware and software components from different manufacturers on an as-needed basis. Analogous to an in-house Wifi network, the focus in 6G-Terafactory is on a private campus network installation (NPN: non-public network) that offers maximum flexibility in terms of configuration and performance features, but is still easy to operate. Following a secure zero-touch operation (SZTO) paradigm, end-to-end process automation reduces complexity to such an extent that network operation by an in-house IT organization without specific mobile expertise becomes possible. Secure, resilient and efficient implementation by design ensures that data exchange between distributed devices, resources, applications and users is protected against espionage, sabotage and cybercrime. Network monitoring, including machine learning methods, ensures that the network continuously optimizes itself and adapts security and performance in an agile manner. performance in an agile manner
