Digital Twin of Aquatic Environments

Application fields

Digital Twins (DTs) have gained significant popularity in various industries due to their real-time representation of physical objects. Recently, interest in applying DTs to environmental science has grown, with a focus on representing ecosystems and environmental processes. Especially aquatic environments can be challenging and require sophisticated models and algorithms to be adequately represented. The Digital Twin of Aquatic Environments (DiTAq) project aims to address the fundamental aspects of environmental DTs and specifically focuses on the challenges posed by aquatic DTs. The primary objectives are to develop methodologies for integrating AI techniques into aquatic DTs, establish validation approaches tailored to aquatic DTs, and promote interoperability and scalability to the concept of aquatic DTs.
