Platform for data, artificial intelligence and services in the smart living ecosystem

ForeSightNEXT is the lead project of the "SmartLivingNEXT" technology program funded by the BMWK and is developing the technological and economic basis for the creation of a secure, trustworthy and sustainable SmartLivingNEXT ecosystem on the basis of a shared, sovereign data space. The vision is to make AI-based smart living services for improving energy efficiency, home care, home security and living comfort executable in all digitized residential buildings in the future and thus quickly scalable, regardless of their manufacturer-specific equipment. To this end, a universal smart living ecosystem will be created that is accepted and trusted by all market participants and in which all data for the development of sustainable, AI-based smart living services and applications can be used across manufacturers and systems.

As a lead project, ForeSightNEXT will develop offers for so-called SmartLivingNEXT satellite projects. This refers to specific, practical smart living applications, especially in the areas of energy and care/assistance, which are based on the structural elements of the lead project. Among other things, a repository and various reference implementations for computer, test and demonstration environments with integrated basic services, a toolbox and the data room are provided for support.

ForeSightNEXT unites DFKI with seven other consortium partners: BEENIC GmbH, C&S Computer und Software GmbH, Forschungsvereinigung Elektrotechnik beim ZVEI e. V. (consortium leader), GSW Gesellschaft für Siedlungs- und Wohnungsbau Baden-Württemberg mbH, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Materna Information & Communications SE and Novus Software GmbH.
