With over 188,000 active EU normative acts, regulatory compliance has become one of the greatest challenges for European SMEs, who frequently lack internal legal resources. While AI offers a potential solution, standard tools carry significant risks of legal inaccuracies ("hallucinations") and privacy leaks. The EU-funded TRUST project is bridging this gap by developing a reliable AI ecosystem co-designed with end-users. Built on an advanced abstraction layer that cross-references multiple AI models to eliminate errors and secure sensitive data, TRUST introduces an online platform featuring specialized compliance agents. These tools automatically track new regulations, analyze risks, and streamline mandatory reporting. Ultimately, the project aims to turn compliance into a competitive advantage for businesses through a cost-efficient "Seal of Trust" certification scheme, empowering SMEs to thrive confidently within the European market.
