Abstract

We investigate the suitability of Augmented-Reality for teaching of medical procedures that involve not just theoretical knowledge but also the physical execution of potentially difficult physical actions. As a specific case study, we consider training for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with an Augmented-Reality (HoloLens) Teacher. The statistical evaluation shows a significant improvement in the performance of CPR of more than 35% in the effectiveness of CPR, after a short HoloLens teaching session in a group of 22 untrained persons. It also reveals the HoloTeacher to be more effective than the traditional human teaching methods.
