Abstract

Gait analysis is vital for understanding human movement during rehabilitation after lower-extremity fracture. While conventionally measured using motion capture and force plates, instrumented insoles have evolved to the point that they become valuable for postoperative patient monitoring.Insoles provide extensive data for analyzing ground reaction force-based (GRF) gait parameters. Conventional GRF parameters rely on typical shape features of healthy stance phases. Current analysis solutions often perform poorly at detecting gait events for patients and lack transparency in parameter calculation. We propose novel parameters to address these challenges and emphasize the importance of refining parameters for GRF gait analysis during rehabilitation.
