Zusammenfassung

Digital Twin is a trend term that is frequently used in various research areas. It is a digital representation of an object, called asset. In current research, the restriction to a physical object is lifted and virtual objects are considered. The Asset Administration Shell is an approach to create standardized Digital Twins in the context of Industry 4.0. It allows the combination of both physical and digital assets. Another enabler for high-end solutions is Artificial Intelligence. It offers numerous new ideas and solutions, but adds complexity to existing systems. This paper outlines the life cycle of Artificial Intelligence and how a Digital Twin created by the Asset Administration Shell can be used to reduce complexity. Here, the life cycle is split into a total of six phases that are covered by three different submodels, which are proposed within this work. Furthermore, the meta information of these submodels is presented in detail and their interactions are discussed.
