  • Duration:

DFKI is one of the founding members of the ICT-Labs Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) funded by the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT). ICT-Labs support a number of activities with the general objective to create innovation and marketable results from on-going or recently completed R&D projects.

ICT-Labs supports a number of Action Lines focused on different thematic areas. In 2012, DFKI RIC participates in two activities in Smart Energy Systems (ASES), an Action Line dedicated to the support of ICT solutions for the energy net of the future.

  1. Future Scenarios in Smart Energy Systems with InnoEnergy KIC establishes a connection to the InnoEnergy KIC and identifies future markets and technical development areas with a high potential. RIC contributes our experience in the area of electric vehicles (which will become a major prosumer of electric energy in the future) to this activity.
  2. European Virtual Smart Grid Laboratory analyzes and documents research environments, tools and data sources supported by the ICT-Labs partners and makes them available to the KIC for future R&D projects and/or commercial usage when possible.
