Zusammenfassung
The Asset Administration Shell (AAS) is an established standard to describe assets in predominantly Industrie 4.0 contexts. Gathering information in these environments for complex tasks, for example assembly line or work plan optimization, requires information retrieval from a highly heterogeneous system, including multi domain data, such as processes, worker capabilities or industrial machines. However, query capabilities of AAS are limited, making finding and retrieving relevant data difficult. This is especially true for aggregating cross domain data from distributed data sources. While systems like Eclipse BaSyx allow for more complex search queries, including information from non AAS sources or making full use of semantic identifiers within AAS models to infer relations and properties via semantic classes is not possible. With the AAS meta model ontology available, an important step towards a semantically exploitable representation is done but lacks sufficient semantic depth and expressibility. In this paper we present a higher level AAS core ontology, allowing for linking concepts from arbitrary domains to an AAS based system, treating the AAS meta model ontology as a AAS domain ontology and allowing for extensive querying and reasoning over multiple AAS.
