Companies and organizations are facing growing challenges: skills shortages, increasing workloads, technical disruptions, and rapidly changing conditions can all have a significant impact on day-to-day operations. The HYTEG research project aims to develop innovative learning and transfer tools that help employees and managers identify such challenges at an early stage and respond to them effectively.
At the heart of the project is an interactive learning environment that combines Extended Reality (XR), Serious Games, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through realistic simulations, teams can experience critical workplace situations in a safe environment, develop solutions collaboratively, and practice resilience strategies that can be transferred directly to their daily work. The tools and methods developed within HYTEG will be tested and evaluated together with companies and organizations from industry, services, and public administration.
The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) plays a key role in the project. DFKI is developing intelligent AI-based tools that analyze work processes, identify potential resilience risks, and provide teams with actionable recommendations. These tools do not focus solely on technical processes but also take into account human factors such as workload, collaboration, and decision-making. The goal is to use AI as a supportive partner that helps people create more resilient, sustainable, and future-proof ways of working.
By bringing together expertise from psychology, work science, and artificial intelligence, HYTEG creates a novel learning environment that enables organizations to strengthen their resilience and adaptability in an increasingly dynamic world of work.
