Laufzeit:

Data Spaces Support Centre 2

The Data Spaces Support Centre 2 (DSSC2) is the successor to the initial Data Spaces Support Centre EU project, and it will build on the groundwork laid during the first project. Following the conclusion of the first project, which established the foundational blueprints and standards for European data spaces, DSSC2 is designed to drive the next wave of impact, operationalizing data spaces at scale and enabling cross-sector integration. The follow-up project has officially started on 1 May 2026 and will run for three years.

The consortium will ensure the continuation of the Data Spaces Support Centre, and the partners are committed to supporting the coherent development, interoperability, and sustainable scaling of the Common European Data Spaces. The mission aligns with the objective to facilitate secure and trusted data sharing and reuse across sectors, benefiting public administrations and European businesses, particularly SMEs. By adopting common practices, building blocks, protocols, and fit-for-purpose tools, data spaces will be supported in achieving their goal of getting traction by increasing adoption. The next stage requires a sharper focus on use cases and business models, clarifying value propositions and incentives for participants while resolving remaining technical and infrastructural gaps. This project will help European data spaces move from guidance to sustainable impact, creating real value for the Single Market.

Georg Rehm (SLT), the coordinator of the European Language Data Space (LDS), and his team will take on the role of one of a total of 14 Sector Orchestrators and act as a sounding board to safeguard that the theoretical foundations of the DSSC benefit its actual users – the data spaces.
