Zusammenfassung
In this position paper we present an approach and vision we call Seman-tic Storytelling. The idea is to develop a system that, given an incomingdocument collection, is able to (semi-)automatically extract or generate different story paths or plot lines towards the goal of supportingknowledge workers (journalists, authors, scholars, politicians, businessanalysts etc.) in their daily work of processing huge amounts of incom-ing content. We outline the different components needed, which canbe summarised as preprocessing, semantic analysis and content enrichment, as well as generating storylines. Our idea is to take into accountthe specificities of different text genres, which, we believe, will help usto generate better results according to the needs and characteristicsof the respective text genre. We give a brief example where SemanticStorytelling can be applied and try to pinpoint the main conceptual, scientific and technical gaps that still need to be addressed fully torealise our vision of a Semantic Storytelling system.
