Current advances in artificial intelligence are opening up completely new possibilities for manufacturing companies. Machine learning, pattern recognition, generative systems and other techniques promise, for example, to derive new insights from production data and measured values, identify outliers and optimization potential, illustrate complex correlations and achieve a wide range of improvements in operations.
However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector in particular often encounter difficulties when using state-of-the-art AI: Which technology is even suitable for my company? What prerequisites are necessary? What skills do I need to build up in advance? What costs can I expect? What economic benefits can I expect in a specific case?
The local research institutions in Kaiserslautern are pooling their AI expertise and - with funding from the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture - are making SMEs in Rhineland-Palatinate an attractive offer: Tell us about your application idea! Your applications will be evaluated with regard to the successful use of AI; selected ideas will be examined in potential analyses and further developed into demonstrators.
