SE4PAUL shows how AI-based quality control can save time and money and how a digital twin simplifies the production process. In addition, the demonstrator shows how manual workstations can be integrated into automated production environments. And thanks to the asset administration shell and OPC UA, plant control does not have to be complicated either. As an example product, a truck cab is manufactured according to the principles of distributed production of the future. In addition, visitors can look forward to an insight into the latest augmented reality technologies in the form of AR glasses that guide them through the entire production process and thus support them in manufacturing. 

Shared Economy

SE4PAUL is part of the demonstrator landscape of the technology initiative SmartFactory-KL, which is based at DFKI in Kaiserslautern. In this concept, several production islands at different locations work together via a data room in Kaiserslautern as a skill-based production network (shared production). They take on different roles in the production process and work together to build an individually configurable model truck as an example product.
